Born
in the city of Matanzas, Cuba, on the 6 of July 1966.
He
Begins his professional career as a musician at 18 years
old, in the summer of 1984, studying at that time in
various schools: Escuela Nacional de Mùsica Gerardo
Guanche, Escuela Nacional de Mùsica Amado Roldàn, Escuela
de Mùsica y Superaciòn Profesional Ignacio Cevantes.
He finishes his studies with the title of Graduaciòn
como Mùsico Instrumentista y Profesor.
In this same year he enters the Orquesta
de Mùsica Moderna de Matanzas, where he works
professionally for approximately a year, interpreting
all types of repertories, in addition to producing several
recordings.

Later
on he moves to Varadero, Where during the next year
and a half works in different band.
In
1987 and 1988 he settles in the City of the Havana and
works in recording of EGREM
and the ICAIC (Instituto
cubano de Artes e Industrias Cinematogràficas), recording
music for theatre and television.
In 1988 he begins playing with the group Costa
Caliente , whit whom he will stay with for
approximately the following year and a half.

At
the same time he begins to carry out some work related
to Jazz, together with other musicians, this work ending
up with the formation of the group Talla
Extra . From this point on, he begins a new
stage in his musical career, due to the huge exit of
this group with whom he worked during four years, later
the Cuban singer Xiomara Laugart,
is also united. With this arrangement, they record two
compact discs: in 1989 and in 1992, they take part in
various nation an international tours, numerous concerts,
in theatres, parks and other places with a multitude
of audience.
At
the end of 1992, he begins to collaborate in various
sporadic jobs with a well known pianist and Jazz arranger:
Pucho Lòpez,
with whom he begins to play with, participating in the
Jazz Festival in the Habana, and in the Jazz Festival
in Toronto, Canada in 1993. In this same year, a variety
of concerts were scheduled to be played in Vermont (US)
yet were cancelled due to the denial of the groups'
entrance to the United States.

In
November of 1993 he participates as a soloist together
with Pucho Lòpez,
accompanied by the Orchesta
de Mùsica Moderna de Villa Clara, in homage
to Armando Romeu, once of cuba's greatest musicians.
In
1994, he moves on to form part of the group Afrocuba
(occasionally accompanied Silvio Rodrìguez), with
whom he accompanies on international tours and records
three compact discs.

At
the end of 1995, while residing in Denmark, he joins
Cuban music band (salsa) Son
en Talla, participating in various festivals
in the North of Europe. Among others in the Salsa Festival
in Copenhagen, where he shares the stage with important
groups such as Los Grandes
Daneses de la Salsa, o Kid
Kreole.
During
this time, he performs in different Jazz clubs as well:
In Sweden, "Nefertiti" or in the "Jazz House" in Copenhagen.
In addition, he comes out in various occasions with
the radio and television station in Copenhagen: Dagma
Radio.

In
the summer of 1996, he moves to Granada, Spain an establishes
his residency. It is here that he decides to form his
own band Nardy's Jazz Quintet.
They their debut in the Club de Jazz y otras musicas
"Secadero". This is the beginning of a new phase in
his artistic career, the head of a Jazz Band.
During
his time in Granada, he continues to collaborate with
a number of different local and national group like
Cu-bop o La
blues Band de Granada.
In
the last few months of 1996 and until May of 1997 he
forms part of the Madrid band La
Barberia del sur.
In
June of 1997 he receives the "Secadero
97" award for the best Jazz saxophonist.

The
summer of 1997 initiates an international tour with
the recent formation of Cuban residents in Europe and
Cuba, known as Cubanismo,
featuring Jesus Alemany,
who was the founder, and participated in the recording
of the first record in Cuba in 1995.
Since
the summer of 1997 he begins yet another stage in his
artistic career with various world tours with Cubanismo,
performing in numerous Jazz Festivals, with all types
of music in almost every continent; sharing the stage
and performing with very prestigious musicians, primarily
in the world of Jazz.

These
tours continue up until 1998 and 1999. In the last tour
throughout the United State, between April and June
of 1999, he participates and carries out-together with
the rest of the band Cubanismo
as well as individually- WorkShops,
and Conferences
in some universities in the United States. For example
at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill,
the University of Guelph, in Ontario-Canada- the University
of Denison en Gran Ville-Ohio; University of Wisconsin;
University of White Water, etc. This served to be a
very important and positive experience in his professional
career.
